Well, I used the link Allan wong provided and I guess it did basically the 
same thing. It may seem amusing, but I wasn't even aware that the version I 
was already using was an update, the .243 one; it was just the only current 
version of Jaws 8 when I finally gave up waiting for my CDs and went to the 
FS site to download it myself. So that's one reason I've been a little lost 
while people said that if you didn't have the first update then trying to 
install the new one would cause trouble, and so forth.

Ah, well. It all seems to be working out. And I see already that a few very 
annoying bugs have been fixed, though I'm ready to discover other bugs still 
remaining. Just being realistic.

You should be ok using the auto update feature, because you're updating from
the first update directly to the second. I would like to know whether or not
those of you who are having this problem updated from the first release of
Jaws 8 or from the 423 update.
