Judith,

Look at the file extension of each file on the CD. (the file extension is 
the part of the file name which comes after the period. Example: 
Chapter1.doc or Chapter1.txt

If you don't see any file extensions, you need to go into the view menu and 
set it so file extensions are visible.

What happens when you try clicking on one of these files on the CD? Does it 
open in a word-processing program?
