Judith,
Have you tried doing what I suggested to copy the files? Other than saying
that these are data files, you didn't say what type of files are on the CD.
If they contain text, you could simply open each file by clicking on them on
the CD, which would open them in a word processing program. Once the text is
loaded into your word processor, you could simply go to the file menu,
choose "Save As" and save the text as a new file on your hard drive.
If the data files are not text, then you need to be more specific about what
type of files they are, in order to help list members advise you on how to
copy them.
