If it just plain won't work, sometimes it helps to place the cursor on the button, turn off Jaws, press enter to activate the button and then bring JAWS back. You could turn on Narrator to be sure you're on the button too. sometimes, for technical reasons I don't understand, JAWS gets in the way of the turn-on.
