Subject: Windows Messenger and JAWS
I've changed the subject line to reflect the subject. There is no way that JAWS could be starting Windows Messenger when it starts. JAWS does not control this in any way.

I am using Jaws 7.1 and have Windows XP Home. When I run Jaws it starts the Windows Messenger which I have turned off everywhere else. How can I fix this problem. It is causing Outlook Express to crash. If I use End It All and stop Windows Messenger from running then Jaws also stops. That is very likely why Outlook Express and Jaws crash when I switch users and further why the Log On screen for Outlook Express thinks it wants me to select an identity even when I am not near the computer.--
When I start Window Eyes the Windows messenger does not automatically start.
Is there a fix for this problem or is it becoming a requirement to run Windows Messenger when using JAWS? Certainly hope not!
