I agree with Rick.  JAWS is a fantastic piece of software and I for one feel
fortunate to have it.  I would not be employed without it.  When dealing
with computers, one must not rule out many factors.  Your problem could be
with memory and I would look at what you have running in the background.
I do not experience this problem you talk about.  I have tried Window Eyes
and its no comparison to JAWS.  I can do almost anything with JAWS and if I
can't I write the scripts to do it.
Check the MSCONFIG file or the Run key in your registry to see how much is
in  your backgorund.
