JAWS for Windows has no affect on the speed of any web browsing software.
The speed of any software depends on a number of factors, such as:
What type of internet connection you are using; (If it is a broad band
connection, then it will depend upon the price you are paying for the
service. Generally, the cheaper the service, you will get slower upload and
download speeds, unless you can get a faster speed at a lower price through
a promotion, for example).
The type of network card that you have installed in your computer; (Is the
network card a fixed speed or multi-speed card).
The speed of the computer's processor, motherboard and hard drives;
How much memory you have;
How many processes the computer might be running in the background;
If you are running any intensive security programs, such as Norton Security
Sweet or Vista's security utilities.
The only way that JAWS could have any affect on any program, is if there is
not enough memory available for JAWS to process the speech output quickly
enough.
