I am using the American Heritage Talking Dictionary Version 5 on CD, I paid
$15.00 for it. I ordered it from the Internet.
I simply went to Google and typed American Heritage Talking Dictionary into
the search field and found sites advertising all sorts of prices and
versions.
As I say I have version 5. I have to use the Jaws cursor, but it is no
problem and I find out everything needed including a Thesaurus.
I have been using the AHD for about 7 years and have used Version 4 too,
both versions 4 and 5 worked well.

The version of AHD I am using is on a CD, from about 1997. It has served
it's purpose. I confess I have not tried the current version but will look
into it soon.

byHarry,
I'm not sure to whom you've addressed this question, but the American heritage dictionary we were discussing isn't free. It's available eitherthedownload or on CD-ROM, but as a commercial publication, not a piece of freeware. I happen to have downloaded a trial version yesterday and mentioned that, but I, at least, didn't say I'd gotten anything for free.
Sorry if something I said might have misled you.

What is that web address, where one can get that free American Heritage
dictionary that works so well with jaws? You did say it was free didn't
you?
I will try it out if it is. Otherwise I will stick with the free Word Web
dictionary that I know definitely works perfectly without any scripts, and
it is just fine with jaws.
Now what was that web address again?
