You might check the keyboard layout under JAWS basics (the same screen
where you set JFW to run automatically, or from the system tray, or
whatever). Simply focus on JAWS, and press Alt to bring up Basics. Tab
to the keyboard layout, and see which one is checked. Changing involves
nothing more than moving the cursor up or down.
