?Hey dave:Fair point. I've talked to a bunch of people concerning this power point problem of mine and they all say the same thing. Pay the web seminars. I really need the techniques and skills to make a good presentation using power point. So, I am going to spend the money. I need professional-looking presentation. I don't want to make a sloppy job at anything. Also, do you know if the web seminars for excel are worth it as well. I thought that since I am going to spend the money for power point, why not spend it on excel as well. Any suggestion will be welcome.
Alex:I know next to nothing about power point. I need to use it now. I don't have the time to do a sloppy job. I want to know how to do a professional-looking presentation. I am in university, but I need to do it as well as I can. If the rest of my classmates can, why shouldn't I? The speakers notes, that doesn't makes much of a difference. In fact, I can just put a picture and hide them on there. Or the easy thing, write them on index cards and read them as my other classmates.

Wrong, Alex. I've taken the webinar and it is designed for 2007, and the concepts for creating slides are the same as far as making presentations. Don't talk about what you haven't tried yourself. Using notes is not possible in any version of JAWS and this is pointed out in the webinar, so you won't have any miracles. However you can createslides that give you complete control over the content and even allow you tocontrol the bullet points to allow you, as the presenter, to stay in syncwith the slides, one bullet at a time. There is a way to caption the pictureso that they remind you of their content. The webinar is well worth the cost if you plan to be serious about making presentations. I've tried making them before I took the webinar, and it's much easier to do with the tools presented.Again I don't know if there are archives available for this webinar, but ifnot, then either pay the price, or don't cast aspersions against something you haven't tried yourself. And, no I don't work for Freedom Scientific. I am a Sales Engineer and making presentations is part of my job. Jaws sucks with 07 where it once was pretty decent with 03. I would make really sure before I plunked my money down that the version of powerpoint featured in that seminar wasn't an old one. FS totally dropped the ball with 07 and I don't think they have even bothered to fix the jaws issues with it in jaws 12. This is something of a major annoyance to me since I use this stuff every day at work to train classes. I can't write on a board and powerpoint helps with filling the void since I have it hooked up to a projector. but, man, would it be nice if the notes and outline pane worked propperly. <mailto:yadosotomayor@xxxxxxxxxxx>Alex M George B wrote:well if f s is giving the web semminor you would have to think that their product would work with power point or how would they give this web event *From:* jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] *On Behalf Of *Yadiel Sotomayor *Sent:* Monday, September 20, 2010 14:17 *To:* JFW Maillinglist *Cc:* JFW Maillinglist *Subject:* Power Point with jaws anyone? Hola lista! Nesesito ayuda! Hello list, I need help! I am taking a public education class on my university and they expect everyone on the class to do a power point presentation. The problem is, I don't know anything about power point and how to use it with jaws. I tried the jaws help but they only list the key strokes. FS has a web seminar, or something like that, about how to use power point. But guess what? The seminar cost more than an old man's pension... again! I am willing to give up the money since power point is a must on most of my classes. However, I don't know if it will work. Does anyone know of any other, more cheaper, alternatives? If not, do you know if the freedomscientific web seminars work and are worth the huge amount of money they cost?Yadiel Sotomayor yadosotomayor@xxxxxxxxxxx <mailto:yadosotomayor@xxxxxxxxxxx>-- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
