All you need to do is to contact me on this list. Everyone deserves the
chance to learn the same information.

I alluded to hardware. I found some items that are essential:

  1. A remote presenter using either Bluetooth or RF to control the slides. It
should emulate a left mouse click as well as F5 to start the slide show, and
Escape to end.

  2. A separate audio output card (again USB works) for any sounds you want to
issue from your presentation. These sounds are separate from JAWS. If you don't
have any audio output linked to your slides, then this device is not necessary.
However this sound output needs to be connected to the sound system in the
presentation room.

  3. A Bluetooth connection to your default sound output that JAWS is using. I
use a simple Bluetooth dongle connected to my laptop headphone output, and then
use a simple Bluetooth headset the same as for cell phones. This is critical,
because it allows you to hear what JAWS is saying so that the audience doesn't
have to hear it. And the cell phone device is small and unobtrusive.

The end result is that I can stand anywhere in the room (within 30 feet of
the Bluetooth dongle of course) and control the show and hear what JAWS is
saying, all while talking to the audience.

I strongly recommend the webinar, if you can't find it in their archives. I
took it a couple years ago and the techniques they use really help to make
professional presentations. I made a presentation for my Project Management
class, and it went very well.

Write me later and I'll give you some details on the hardware that I used.

      Hola lista! Nesesito ayuda!
      Hello list, I need help!

I am taking a public education class on my university and they expect
everyone on the class to do a power point presentation. The problem is, I don't
know anything about power point and how to use it with jaws. I tried the jaws
help but they only list the key strokes. FS has a web seminar, or something
like that, about how to use power point. But guess what? The seminar cost more
than an old man's pension... again! I am willing to give up the money since
power point is a must on most of my classes. However, I don't know if it will
work. Does anyone know of any other, more cheaper, alternatives? If not, do you
know if the freedomscientific web seminars work and are worth the huge amount
of money they cost?
