Sorry for not responding to all of you sooner. We've had a busy weekend.
I have audible manager working.
My problem is probably two fold.
I can burn the CD with Nero but the quality is really crummy and has lots of noise with it.
I also did not know what device to choose.
What I wanted to do is download the books, burn them to CD and play in my daisy player. I just am confused about settings and getting better quality.
I've been through many of the help sections but am still having trouble.
A friend tried on her computer with i tunes and was able to do it for me just fine with one book but I would like to do it myself of course.
Thanks.
Lovette

Don,

I think she's talking about having trouble copying those files to a CD to
listen to. Now, if I remember correctly, Audible Manager includes a
capability to do this properly using only Audible Manager, but you have to
install or activate the function. Or something like that. I think it might
be worth a call to Audible tech support. Which, by the way, has a toll free
number which I can find if someone wants it, but really, I think this is the
thing to do. Was there something she said that gave yuou the impression that
she'd signed up with Audible but had not learned about Audible Manager and
installed it, so she didn't even know she could listen to the programs on
her computer nor that she could copy them to her portable player if it was
Audible-ready and she plugged it into the USB port while audible Manager was
running? This is basic stuff. I thought she must know all that, but missed
the instructions about how to burn an audible program to a CD. None of which
would be a a problem if you're using Audible Manager and set up the right
stuff. The tech support people would be happy to explain, I'm sure.

Hi,

I do purchase and read audible books from audible dot com, but those
books are in a special format with the extension aa. Therefore, they must be
played with their software, namely Audible Manager which is available on
their web site, or you can convert them to mp3 files using a program like
GoldWave.

    Hope this helps,

    Don
