Dave,

You wrote: "....good one, is how FS, would price and package the various
versions of JAWS.

those..."

Yes, as a first cut, simply take the current price for speech + Braille an
sell each module at half the price. Since the magnification product is
already separate, then keep that pricing the same.

So if you want speech and Braille, you still pay what you do today.

Seems simple to me, but don't know if FS ever seriously considered the
suggestion.

Dave:

JAWS, like many software programs, is like a camel that has too many humps
and, with each succeeding version, is gaining more and more. Eventually,
the camel will no longer be able to stand because, it is being forced to the
ground, under the weight of so many humps.

A major problem I can see happening with your suggestion, although it is a
good one, is how FS, would price and package the various versions of JAWS.
There are those of us who only use Speech, those who only use Braille, those
who only use magnification and, there are those of us who use a combination
of speech, Braille and magnification.

And, if they were to get their heads around those problems, I do not see the
quality and control getting any better, unless they had dedicated teams of
programmers for each version of JAWS. And, I can not see that happening any
time soon, not even in a month of Sundays! Can, you!

Sincerely:

Dave Durber
