Hello Dave,
I am using A T and T.
I hear you about not wanting to be tied to a provider's
software!!
I will try not to use their software if I can avoid it!
I have always heard "EarthLink " was a great ISP.
However, I have all my communications stuff, cell phones, wife and mine,
home phone , and computer with A T and T.
I do not like the monopoly they have set up, but what can I say!
My only other choice is going Comcast Cable, and if I have problems, with
A T and T, even after all these years, I might go that route.
Hopefully, I am nervous about this DSL thing for nothing!

Who is your provider?
I ask the question because it is not always necessary to install the ISP
provider's software.
For example, My ISP provider is Earthlink. I did not install their
software
tools, as I am already own and use software that is as good as, if not
better than their protection software.
Another reason why I personally would not use an ISP provider's software,
is
that I do not want to be tied to them exclusively.

Hello Folks,
I have been using a 56K modem with a Dial Out ISP account for ages now.
I finally broke down and ordered DSL and I am waiting for the Modem and
the
software to arive.
I am using JAWS 9.0 and Windows XP.
Is there anything I should be aware of before I try doing the software
installation for the DSL account?
A bit nervous, things are working just so good with my computer system, I
do
not want to mess anything up!
