Your bad experiences are noted and I can see why you might shy away from 
doing it in the future.

As for your message to Mr. Durbur I guess I was put off by the tone of your 
message rather than the actual content. If my wife were to laugh at a 
particular suggestion I would consider that not to be relevant to the 
discussion and not post it.

All that having been said it is certainly a procedure that deserves care, 
but well within the capabilities of anyone with a reasonable amount of 
computer expertise -- irrespective of their visual acuity.

I was using an older partition magic which is why it didn't work. As for
partitioning drives while blind, it is a risky business without someone
there to make sure you don't do anything wrong. Redefining partition sizes
can render your data useless after copying it or imaging it over. Not to
knock who's doing it, I wouldn't recommend playing with such powerful tools
because this is dangerous for obvious reasons.
