I just checked and I was using partition magic 8.0. It didn't work for the more
complicated of tasks. I can see partitioning a brand new drive with 100 percent
allocation, but to resize a partition is another story. Perhaps they came out
with a different version of 8.0. Can you resize partitions? I would use the
updated version given that it might be more accessible. I naturally gave up
playing with it after the first attempt. What I discovered is that it is mostly
graphical information, plus I didn't want to confuse other hard drives and
accidentally select the wrong one. When did you download this software? Is it
compatible with windows 7?

  Hi Dave;

I have also used Partition Magic 8.0 to partition the HardDrives of 3
computers, with no problems. If you would like to take a look at the manual
for PM 8.0, I will send it to you off list. Take care.

    Hello Everyone:

As I have mentioned before, I purchased 2 new SATA internal hard drives, 2
    TB capacity.

I used an disk image program called Image for Windows, which is very
accessible using JAWS, to create an image of my existing aging 160 GB IDE
    drive.

I intend to use Image for Windows, to restore the disk image to one of the 2
    TB drives.

However, when I have done that, there will be an unallocated partition
containing the remaining available free space for that drive.

What disk partitioning software can I use, that is accessible using JAWS, to
resize the newly created partition and create, allocate and format the
remaining extended partition for that drive?

    Thanks in anticipation.
