I can duplicate this under Windows XP. For some reason, on some keyboards at least, the right alt key not only performs it function, but seems to "push down", or even "lock", the control key, making it think that you want to press control in combination with the alt key. My advice is to *always* use the left alt key, which doesn't have this issue. I'm not sure of the direct cause, but I have certainly noticed this on my Windows XP machine, to which I rarely, if not ever, used the right alt key anyway. Hope that helps. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Geoff Connor" <gjconnor@xxxxxxx>

Good morning everyone. I'm currently using Jaws 8.0 and Windows Vista Home Premium. I am having a problem with 1 of my alt keys. Sometimes, when I goto close a program with alt-f-4, I'll press the right alt key along with thef-4 key and Jaws will say, alt-control-f-4. I thought I was having trouble with both of my alt keys until I was having trouble with the right alt keyone day and press the left alt key with the f-4 key and it worked just fine. The program I had open closed just like that. My right alt key doesn't act up all the time, but when it does, it's a pain because it's the one I usemost to close programs that I have open. What could be my problem? Is there something wrong with Jaws? Is there something wrong with my keyboard? Is ita windows issue? I'd sure like to get this fixed. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers.
