I have the paid version of AVG and am disappointed and annoyed at the interference this program causes while I read e-mail, work and try to use my computer. When e-mail is being scanned I cannot read my other mail. If I am working I get all the messages that it is updating or scanning and I cannot continue until I press okay or close. So maybe there is also a place to check to have it run in the background instead of interfering with everything else. Anyone know? In AVG, go to control system and hit the space bar. Tab to the list menu and arrow to e-mail scanner. Tab to properties and activate it. Tab to configure and activate it. Tab to turn on notification (or something like that) and uncheck it (I believe it is the second tab).
