I've never gotten power DVD to read at all, except in the Open menu
(ctrl+o) and the Configuration menu (Ctrl+c). However, most things can
be managed by key commands once the disc is playing. Consult the page
Geoff linked to in his last message. Most of those commands are
available in much older versions of PowerDVD, at least as far back as 4.0.
be aware that in order to start a disc playing, you need to press
<enter> (if it doesn't start playing automatically upon insertion).
However, you will frequently get the DVD menu first and must select an
item (using the arrow keys) and then press <enter> to activate it. In
my little experience with DDVD's, the main program material is usually
selected by default so hitting <enter> should get the show on the road.
As for getting JAWS to read the application, OCR is your only option.
In PowerDVD, most of the time everything is just drawn to the screen as
bitmaps so there is nothing to read. the exceptions to this are the
Configuration dialog (which reads pretty well), and the menus reachable
by pressing ctrl+o and "l".
