Robin, how would the selective mode window be a problem? Ok, it appears before Jaws loads, but it doesn't vanish. Even if Jaws wasn't set to start automatically it could be started with a hot key, so I can't see how someone would be without speech feedback. Yes, it's important to know what you're unchecking in the startup list, but as you know by default everything wants to start with windows, so even if someone only removes those things they can readily identify it'll make a big difference.
