Not about to start yet another thread about the woeful state of browsers for RO in general and the Iyonix very much in particular, but a quick recap for those who've been asleep: !Oregano2 is the Iyonix standard. It is execrable, bug-ridden, but just about still works in most respects if you are patient and not fussy about layout. !Firefox might be a promising 'work in progress'; it is not 'consumer-quality' yet. The others are useless to varying degrees (YMMV), except for the exceedingly competent !Netsurf, and as long as you don't want Javascript. But on the Iyonix, we can't even use !Netsurf, if we need to print out a webpage; which IME is 'very often'. "Printing on RISC OS 5 doesn't work, due to lack of support in the Font Manager and printer drivers" says the Netsurf help pages, and this has been the situation since ...forever. And it is still the case. The Netsurf developers IIRC have an issue with !Unicode/iconv support on RO5 which they have described as 'broken'. If so, when is it likely to be fixed please? It can't be so very bad to sort out, since Netsurf pages can be rendered as drawfiles and /then/ printed on the Iyonix as a workround, but this is scarcely convenient or friendly. The browser situation is bad enough without the Iyo having this additional handicap.
