No idea if it is relevant in your case, but the behaviour of my Iyonix is
quite simple to describe...

If I have a CD already in the drive when the Iyonix is powered up, the
drive works fine and I can read discs.

If there is no CD in the drive when the Iyonix is powered up, then usually
the Iyo tells me that it can't find the drive. Putting in a disc makes no
difference.

For some reason a disc has to be present at power-up for the machine to
decide a drive is attached.

For me the solution is to always have an old CDROM in the drive.

Slainte,

Jim
