They have numerous ways of handling payment: pay per use, etc. For heavy unlimited business use their flat fee is $1000 per month, but this is based on several lengthy client demos being performed every day. Makes it VERY easy for clients to connect to watch a software demonstration. GoToMyPC has better end-user pricing IMHO, but Webex makes sense for the right business application. Webex is also very flexible on pricing depending on your needs. Webex and GoToMyPC are going to be the simplest and easiest solutions for someone who is just looking for results quickly. They will also be the simplest and easiest for an end-user to operate. They will also be the simplest to configure in ISA. They cost more, yes. The upside to this is that both are well supported, easy to configure, and extremely easy to use. I don't want to knock any of the other solutions mentioned, but for someone new to networks these two options will be the fastest, easiest ways to meet her bosses goal. I spose however, this restricts your average Jim Harrison or Joe Bloggs trying the 3389 port and they actually have to look harder. Not that its hard of course but its about making it as hard as possible to access for the wrong people isn't it. Also that assumes that you work for a company that uses NAT and doesn't haven't a full range of public ips :P *shows bicep muscle* Greg p.s Jim, no offence of course!! -----Original Message----- From: Thomas W Shinder [mailto:tshinder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, May 08, 2003 9:44 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: Remote Access of PC that is behind ISA http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Steve, Don't be afraid to disagree! :-) I completely forgot about changing the RDP port number. You can always use Timbuktu or PCAnywhere, but these are not as fast and will require specialized ISA rules. DO NOT USE NETMEETING REMOTE DESKTOP SHARING! IF ANYONE ASKS YOU ABOUT IT, IT IS EVIL. In all seriousness I authored a document on the MANY security pitfalls of using NetMeeting RDS, if anyone is interested email me directly. Hope this helps you! I am relatively new at working with networks. I am sort of learning on the job. We have a relatively simple network behind an ISA Server. We have static external IPs as we host our Website and also maintain our own Exchange Server. Here is my problem. My boss wants everyone to be able to access their PCs from home and other places via the Internet. What is the best way to do this when they are all behind ISA? We have Timbuktu.
