The default port for IRC is 6667, isa allows for this in its protocol
definitions by default. However, IRC will also randomly try to connect
with other ports (6660-6669) or something like that so sometimes it will
not connect. There are two ways around this. 1. Create a protocol
definition for each of these ports (one for 6660, one for 6661 etc. This
becomes very messy. 2. In the connection window in IRC, next to the
server you connect to you can choose the edit button and set the port
that you connect on. Set that to 6667 and you should be OK.

Subject: [isalist] IRC connection behind ISA

Hi all,
I would like to know as how IRC can be allowed for the clients
behind ISA(integrated mode). I have a secure NAT client and would like
to connect to IRC server. I have already opened TCP port 6667 for both
inbound and outbound but still no luck. Please advice as what other
configuration is required for IRC to work behind ISA.

Regards,
Vinay.
