Exactly how are you "opening the ports"? Are you creating a packet
filters or protocol rules. You will need to create protocol definitions
under "Policy Elements". One rules for each of those ports.
ISA does support mirc, in fact we have and isaserver room that people
stop buy in from time to time for a yarn.

Hi greg,
I have checked by opening all the ports(6660-6669) but still
no luck. Even it is not connecting from ISA itself. I will give u the
details of the IRC software.
Pls. let me know if ISA supports it.
http://www.mirc.co.uk
Pls. let me know as how can make it work.
Bye,
Vinay.

Vinay
The default port for IRC is 6667, isa allows for this in its
protocol definitions by default. However, IRC will also randomly try to
connect with other ports (6660-6669) or something like that so sometimes
it will not connect. There are two ways around this. 1. Create a
protocol definition for each of these ports (one for 6660, one for 6661
etc. This becomes very messy. 2. In the connection window in IRC, next
to the server you connect to you can choose the edit button and set the
port that you connect on. Set that to 6667 and you should be OK.

Subject: [isalist] IRC connection behind ISA
Hi all,
I would like to know as how IRC can be allowed for the
clients behind ISA(integrated mode). I have a secure NAT client and
would like to connect to IRC server. I have already opened TCP port 6667
for both inbound and outbound but still no luck. Please advice as what
other configuration is required for IRC to work behind ISA.
Regards,
Vinay.
