auto saving draft in GMail is nice use. but it give me some jerk while

BTW I never said that anything that is easy to implement should be
implemented.

AJAX is used for enhancing (preferably an existing) user experience.
GMail's auto save draft is an excellent example, if you feel the web
page is jerking, thats a bug you should notify Google about it. Think
about implementing the same without the use of AJAX, you'll know that
using AJAX enhances the experience.  Similarly, rating a post in Google
groups or Yahoo! Message Boards.  If you disable JavaScript, the page
still works, but with JavaScript, you have an enhanced/easy experience.

think this scenario also,,in gmail i am reading a mail and if i
refresh the page, thats it. everything gets reloaded and go  to the
inbox instead of the message which i read before. if we use normal
stuff, it would not be like that. in yahoo mail and all, u could
referesh and stay in the message where you are.
