Exactly Dinesh. I too use online banking. And my bank also asks me
to use IE
for it.
There are standards for html, css and javascript to be followed to
built a web site. These standards are followed everywhere. If the
sites are built according to these standards, they can be viewed by
any browser that follows these standards. Microsoft does not follow
these standards. They try to impose their own standards. The reason
is that they want everyone to use IE only. When we build websites, we
first have to make them look good in normal browsers, and then we
have to *break* the standards so that they look good in IE.
Most of the idiots who make bank websites use microsoft tools. These
tools are designed to make sure that the sites can only be used with
IE. Many banks have realised the problem - and one can use any
browser to use their sites. Like Axis bank or Indian railways site.
Other banks are still ignorant about this. It is our job to educate
banks, airlines, and other institutions to make their sites viewable
from all browsers.
