Because companies hire ignorant webmasters who don't know even the `c'
of cross platform and cross browser support, coupled with technical
helpdesks which don't even know the `t' of technical.
Really, my experience with a bank which does this type of thing (this
was for someone who uses Firefox on Winblows, but...) was
horrible. I was made to call their technical helpdesk in Mumbai (STD),
and explained to them that I am unable to use this browser, and I
DON'T want to use IE. The response I got was:
"Thank you for your complaint sir. I shall ensure that this gets
forwarded to our website developers. In the mean while, please use
Microsoft Internet Explorer to access all our services easily, as it's
our supported browser."
And months have passed. Nothing happens. What do I do?
Anyway, consider switching your bank. My bank doesn't make me use IE.
