Recently ran into a situation where I needed to get at my firewall box from
my gui-free ubuntu host which I can SSH to from the public net. And I
thought: woot, I'm on linux so just use lynx. The problem is that all these
new fancy routers use a lot of javascript, and lynx just croaks when
confronted with JS.
I tried a few different solutions and finally settled on elinks (
http://elinks.or.cz), which does far more than a text-based web-browser ever
could. Now if only someone can figure out how to do a real-time rendering of
images and flash as ascii figlets, that would be a *really* worthwhile hack
:)
