i agree with boovarahan. to start with, we can contact City Schools
and engineering colleges and ask them to arrange a linux demo day on
their school/college. we, ilugc members will give all the technical
details and help students learns linux for free.
we shall provide them with following things,
1. Linux distros
2. Linux Live CDs
3. software used for development in linux
4. games in linux
5. books in CDs etc
like this if we provide along with a 1 day demo, i am sure students
will eagerly participate and start using the linux and enjoy it.

yes, that is really a good idea and thats how we need
to spread the popularity of linux. and ofcourse Kaavi
at Kilpauk garden had already conducted one such
"linux learning camp" but we were not able to go into
depth as i myself lack that knowledge, but any how we
were able to give them the basic idea of setting up
their own linux boxes, answer to some questions like
"why linux .?" why open source.?"
We had a good response too.
