I use the same DG945GCLF with Damn Small Linux USB pen drive. It works
except for the network card which was not detected by DSL. Open SUSE 10.3
detects the net card but no sound. In fact the sound card is detected but I
can't make it work.
did you try root=/dev/sda1 (or the equiv partition in the USB disk?)
also rootdelay=3 (wait for 3 seconds for the kernel to detect the usb disk)
in the kernel parameters?
