It doesn't break any support. You can't ask Red Hat to support packages
it does not provide or if you modify packages and that causes issues and
Red Hat might ask you to remove a package just to confirm that it isn't
causing the problem in question in some circumstances but merely
installing extra packages is of no problem. Red Hat does provide the
infrastructure and free Red Hat subscriptions to EPEL repository
