which distro is good to setup LAMP.
My suggestion  is Cent OS 6. 
for a good LAMP server you would certainly need python 2.7 and
postgresql 9.x - I doubt whether that OS would provide this.

There are good repositories that provide parallel installable version of
such packages.  EPEL from Fedora,  IUS community from Rackspace are
popular sources but there are several others.
