Hi,
I am using a HP box. I have been hearing to mp3 songs when i had
fedora 2. I installed Debian Sarge 3.1 last week and the sound card is
not installed.
How can i find out my sourd card details. Where and how can i find
sound card driver packages for my PC.
your mail is not very clear. I guess the drivers for ur sound card will be
already detected by the Linux installation. Assuming that you dont have a
mp3 plugin to play the songs, do the following,
1. first try playing a .wav file
2. if it works then sound card is detected correctly, so, for playing xmms
http://havardk.xmms.org/dist/xmms-1.2.7-rh8-rh9-rpm/xmms-mpg123-1.2.7-21.i386.rpm
download this file
3. double click the file and install it.
4. after installation, start xmms and see whether mp3 plays.. :-)
Thanks..
Regards,
Arun Velusamy.
