[Ilugc] A suggestion

We can simply send a Minutes of the Meeting.
An interesting thing to do would be to have a weekly
radio news/update. We can stream it or have it for
download. There are colleges where they do radio
broadcasting, like Anna University, Chennai, and Kongu
Engineering College, Erode. They can broadcast it too
over their network. Or if someone knows anyone in AIR,
we can try to start with a daily 10-minute program on
GNU/Linux updates. But, we must try to be
self-sustained as much as possible, than depend on
others for everything.
We did have this discussion few months back, but, we
didn't continue thereafter.
We can cover the following:
1. weekly mailing list discussions (briefly)
2. news from slashdot.org and other online journals
3. GNU/Linux ads
4. Meeting/LUG activity announcements
5. CDs availability announcements
6. GNU/Linux job announcements
7. Telephone interviews with industry people
We can use Audacity to do the sound recording and
editing.
We need radio jockeys! Maybe we can have the auditions
this LUG meeting! (Saturday, July 9, 2005).
Requirements: One only needs to have a GNU/Linux
system with sound card and an Internet connection - so
you can send in your track updates. This will be your
local studio.
We can also have a name for this project. Each
individual can take up one section. The editing team
can take care of editing all the tracks, and putting
them together.
Of course, it depends on how many people are
interested in it. It doesn't have to be just Chennai
LUG. Contribution can come from different LUGs. It can
also be in regional languages.
