It's behaving as though the whole of the cell is selected even though only part of the text is highlighted. I've even tried excluding the first and last paragraphs. > The EW document model doesn't support multiple paragraphs in a cell, so if > you try to paste in a whole paragraph, it will replace the paragraph that > is there. Well I was able to cut one cell and append the text to another cell, but when I try to cut the original text from the first cell it cuts the whole cell. > You might argue that isn't a desirable behaviour, but doing otherwise would > be inconsistent. I'm not tryong to have more than one paragraph. I'm just pasting some more text into the existing paragraph. > My suggestion of drag selecting was to ensure that you copied a text > selection, not a paragraph. That's what I am doing. I can't even save one lot of text into Edit while I move the other text between cells because it won't even let me paste text back or save the file into an empty cell claiming that it would have more than one paragraph. And of course if there's nothing there I can't select it in order to replace it. I'm stuffed! Actually I have managed to end up with what I wanted but only by cutting one cell and pasting it onto the end of the other cell, then copying the original text from the second cell and pasting it into the first cell, which leaves the combined text from both cells in both cells. I can then cut the excess text from the end of the first cell but the only way I can delete the excess text from the beginning of the second cell is by deleting individual characters with BS, Delete or End. -- Richard Porter http://www.minijem.plus.com/ mailto:ricp@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx I don't want a "user experience" - I just want stuff that works. ------------------------------------------------------------ To change, suspend or cancel your subscription go to //www.freelists.org/list/icon-users ------------------------------------------------------------
