Yes, you mentioned it in 2004. Unfortunately, the report was rather
general, so I did not follow it up immediately and forgot about it
later. I have logged a bug entry for it now.

Yes, this is clearly buggy. The fact that the absolute positions of
all marker positions change when you move one of the outer markers
(the margins) is perfectly normal, but as your example showed, you can
end up in a situation when moving an internal marker causes other
internal markers and even the overall width to be changed, which is
clearly wrong and things go downhill from there.

I will fix that - unfortunately, this is just too late for the 8.7
release, so it might take a while.
