something I forgot to say in the last message. I'd like the ability when the icon is actually recording, to be able to enter an exact level on the key pad, you won't need to be typing in letters when recording mode anyway. also in the bookshelf, since books are opened in read only mode, the keybad could be used to give information about the book like position or size etc.

Just made an interesting discovery. I was playing around with the icon and the audio technica 822 mic. I found that if I set the recording level around 55 or higher i only got sound on the right channel and some times neither channel but if I set the level around 50 or lower I got both channels just fine; but the icon wasn't vibrating like when it clips, and the icon was faithfully reporting clips all along. Do we know how much more floor noise the icon has over say an edirol r1 the a t 822 mics were kind of noisy on the r1 also, so it's hard for me to compare. using a pre-amp would probably make any noise floor on the icon ignorable. I'm going to a concert of 17th century harpsichord music Sunday so I'm waiting to see how the recording will come out.Kevin ROB MEREDITH wrote:Bill: It would be interesting to know if you have the problem if you simply remove the card, wait a short while, then replace the card without changing its contents in another device. Gets hung on the opening file announcement, no matter how long I let it go. Then I reset and it works right away.----- Original Message ----- From: "J.
