[icon-discuss] icon and stereo mics

Just made an interesting discovery. I was playing around with the icon and the audio technica 822 mic. I found that if I set the recording level around 55 or higher i only got sound on the right channel and some times neither channel but if I set the level around 50 or lower I got both channels just fine; but the icon wasn't vibrating like when it clips, and the icon was faithfully reporting clips all along. Do we know how much more floor noise the icon has over say an edirol r1 the a t 822 mics were kind of noisy on the r1 also, so it's hard for me to compare. using a pre-amp would probably make any noise floor on the icon ignorable. I'm going to a concert of 17th century harpsichord music Sunday so I'm waiting to see how the recording will come out.

It would be interesting to know if you have the problem if you simply
remove the card, wait a short while, then replace the card without
changing its contents in another device.

No, doing it from the main menu. Take card out, add some files,
replace it and then go to file explorer. Gets hung on the opening file announcement, no matter how long I let it go.
Then I reset and it works right away.

Hi,

Are you in the file explorer when you remove and insert the card? If
so
you
will want to exit the file explorer after each change.

Thanks,

Hi.
Whenever I remove the mini SD card the Icongives an alert, and when
I
replace it I get another alert. But when I use the file manager to
try to
access the card it will hang and not be able to access the card until

after
I do a reset. Anyone else having this problem?

Subject: [icon-discuss] NewsStand problem, I think.

Hello,
Today I attempted to use the NewsStand, but without any luck.
I subscribed to a few papers and downloaded them. However when I
open
any
of them, nothing happens. The papers don't even open to the first
level
of articles. The unit then locks up and I have to use Task Manager
to
close the NewsStand.
Humm. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks
Dan
