Hi Chase, Thank you so much for all of your great help. Run the auto catalog update, and it should import all of your audible books. Then, open one of the bookshelf views to find them and press select to play them. Right now, I have 370 books from bookshare etc I found judge and jury and entered and it was an audible book. Hope this clears matters. You only have to activate once. You do this through your computer, not through Icon. Your Icon has to be connected to the computer through disk Drive Mode, and your computer has to have an active internet connection. And, I can't tell you how to download directly from the Audible website to Icon anyway, because you can't do it. You have to go through the Audible Manager, or you can move files manually, but let's stick with Audible Manager. Tell me what you did with your books exactly. I think I'm confused about your process and what you want to know. Are you wanting to access your Audible content on your computer again, or are you wanting to get at it from Icon now that you've transferred it? If you want to get to it on Icon, start the Bookshelf and update your book catalog. Your Audible titles appear in your booklists right along with your Bookshare and NLS content. ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert Acosta To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 8:27 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: icon and audible Hi Jenny, I have downloaded several audible books to my bookshelf. Now, to get to library on audible manager again do i have to activate using the steps you gave me or can i find audible manager another way. I am not even going to ask you how to download an audible book i buy from the web site directly into the Icon. I am contentto download using my computer to audio manager then bringing some of them down to Icon. Again, before I confuse you totally. How can i get to audible manager library? Thank you so much for your patience. you are a great teacher. I hope you guys were okay with the terrible floods which ravaged iowa. My wife's home town Decorah, in northeastern Iowa barely made it thanks to a levy which was built during the New Deal era. If you are already a member of Audible, go to Audible Manager. press Alt + D to get to the Devices Menu, and choose "Add New Device". You are taken to an Audible download page with plugins for various devices. Arrow down to LevelStar Devices and press the Space bar to check it. then Tab to the OK Button and Select it. Once this is done, place your Icon in Disk Drive Mode, Audible Manager should see it. Tab to the Mobile Devices view, and press the Applications key. Choose Activate. You'll be asked for your Audible Username and password. Tab to OK, and Select it to activate your device. When the activation is complete, you are placed back in the Library view from which you can choose items to add to the Icon. Hope that helps, Jenny ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert Acosta To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 5:47 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: icon and audible Hi Larry, I found no audible package. I am sure that it is my fault here. What are the steps to get audible.com? I have been a member for years. I went to "check for updates" in audible manager help and was told my audible manager was up-to-date. There was no audible or levelstar plug-in available. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jenny Axler To: icon-discuss@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, June 24, 2008 7:21 PM Subject: [icon-discuss] Re: icon and audible Your audible Manager might need to be updated. Go to the Help Menu, and do a Check for Updates. Then try it again. It should actually take you to a website where you can select the plugin to install, and LevelStar devices should be there, at least it was when I tried it this morning. Any help would be appreciated.
