Hello Nickos, It is none of the files in the ticket. I do not remember the name of the file anymore, but it was a PDF. The problem appeared only some seconds after the copying process begun. However, I think that the system stops at different positions. I deactivated everything, that was available in the safe boot menu. I downloaded the ISO three times, of which two times were from different servers. I created three Haiku installation CDs. One of these three CDs was recorded by an other CD burner. I checked the MD5 of one of the ISOs. It was correct. Therefore I do not think that the installation medium is the problem. Meanwhile I installed Haiku R1 Alpha 2 on my desktop PC and it works fine. It boots very fast and feels great. Now I am writing you from Haiku. However, Alpha 2 seems not to like my notebook, although the Alpha 1 works fine. About your questions: a) Yes, my notebook has WiFi. I do not need it, but I found no way how to deactivate it in the BIOS configuration. I need the normal LAN with the cable. b) I deactivated ACPI. I tried to search for some keywords in the ticket list, but I had no luck. The problem is that I see no error message. Therefore I do not know what to search.
