While I like the abstract idea, the square boxes are a bit....
well, windows-flag-ish IMHO. I think that's begging for trouble.
Here's my take on it. I'm always in favour of abstracting the imagery into a simple graphic that's easily scalable and recognisable, even from just the layout (and hue) of the colours. My version takes the three key Haiku leaf colours and adds white (from the background). The shading could be static (as it is in mine) or applied as a drop-shadow (PNG), or the whole thing easily converted to SVN...
