...that would be the majority's expectation, I expect.

And that's not the common behaviour, anyway; it can be confusing.
A checkbox in the Terminal Prefs, maybe?

A good idea. As else nobody would guess to hold down the WIN key. Yes, even it was mentioned in the documentation... :)
