Factor in the cost of parking, even at a hotel. In Toronto and Boston I pay about $10-$20/day to park at a hotel, even after paying $200/night for the room.
The last time I went to NYC I took Megabus for $10 or $20 it's not as sketchy as the para-legal chinese buses, but they don't crash as often, either.

Lets estimate the cost of gas. 371 miles at 30 MPG is about 1 tank for a 12 gallon vehicle (most compacts). This is about $80 to go to NYC and back to Pittsburgh. Admission to the fair is free for hack pittsburgh members since we are exhibiting. (Hotels..... Unknown variable). (Food. Another unknown variable). Good advice however is dont buy food at the fair. Overpriced through the roof. On Mon, Sep 16, 2013 at 2:28 PM, Halley E. It looks much cooler than Detroit's fair, and that was cool enough already. Nasa will be there. google glass will be there. The creator of the arduino will be there. I mean wow. I have a question. How much do you think it will cost per person if you decide to go and share gas money and hotel room. Anthony said something around $125 dollars. Maybe I can make that work, but if its much higher than that, I don't know. I need an estimated cost please. I am considering going. This information will be useful for all Hack Pittsburgh members. -Geno
