Ok, I stand corrected. I'll say this. I'd hazzard that you won't find it accessible since in order to be accessible in windows, software has to be developpet in a standard way and most if not all of the cross platform stuff I have seen is not accessible since in order to make it cross platforms, they have to or choose to break some of the standard practices that might other wise make it accessible. I'll have a look and report back. If it is in java, that doesn't mean it's inaccessible -- it just means that the high level code is compiled into the intermediate form used by the java virtual machine, which runs on all platforms. And there is accessibility included now for java -- or at least it can be installed on client machines, that interface with accessibility hooks in the program itself (if the developers put it there) so java apps can be very accessible. Sorry for all the geek speak, but I'm also on programmer lists as I am a software developer, and so I think low level when it comes to these things... Take care! I may try it myself, but I haven't yet as I have already forked the money for Word... And Word is a pain to use I find, if you want to do anything beyond typing just a bunch of paragraphs... The menus are truely convoluted, and there is a huge number of special keystrokes to memorize, which only adds to all the keystrokes you need for the screen reader... --le ----- Original Message ----- From: "david poehlman" <david.poehlman@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <guispeak@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, November 26, 2004 7:10 AM Subject: [guispeak] Re: Fwd: Kim Komando Cool Site of the Day -- Thursday, November 25, 2004 > I'd hazzard that it's java based since they tout it as cross platform. > > Johnnie Apple Seed > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Scott V" <scott2089@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <guispeak@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Sent: Friday, November 26, 2004 12:32 AM > Subject: [guispeak] Re: Fwd: Kim Komando Cool Site of the Day -- Thursday, > November 25, 2004 > > > I'm going to be blunt, try it, you can always delete it if you don't like > it. > Sounds like i might give it a try myself. > Sounds like a free version of word.
