Hi Charles, and All,
Firstly, I know I have version 4.02, but I don't know whether the patch has
been applied as it was pre-installed, so how do I find out?
Secondly, I want to make it clearr that in every other respect I am finding the
software absolutely fantastic. I am migrating from Trekker, which I've been
using for years, and which still has a problem with roundabouts, but I have
also been using Wayfinder on a mobile phone, which handles roundabouts
perfectly iin my view, and that is based on helping drivers navigate for quite
some time.
The solutions suggested so far, i.e. exploring the roundabout in advance, or
driving around it while waiting for instructions, are simply unsatisfactory
workarounds. The driver needs to know in advance which exit to take, and this
is particularly true when there are two or three roundabouts only one or two
hundred yards apart, which often happens.
If I don't have the patch installed, then I'll try it again with, and report
back, but I am very happy that the issue is being helpfully discussed, and only
want to see a truly excellent product kkeep its deserved place as best
solution.
