Hi,

Not sure if these were typing errors or actual descriptions of what you did,
but hopefully this will give you some clues.

You say you moved the v3 exe file to the root of the bn drive. Do you mean the
flash disk? I can't recall the exact file name of the .exe file off the top of
my
head, but it's the one on the one cd which isn't in a pocket of the book o cd's
constituting the gps maps.

You later say you pressed a for applications and went to the compact flash
card. If you actually did copy the v3.exe file to your root of the flash disk,
you
should actually have gone there instead of to the flash card.

Finally, from your description, it almost sounds like you actually tried to run
another file rather than the v3 timed exe.

I hope this can help you out.

Don

Can someone help me out. I have followed what I understand to be the
instructions to install the V3 upgrade and continually run into the same
obstacle no matter how I approach the installation.
1. I have replaced all maps, poi's, and doc's with those from the new CD's.
2. I have copied the v3.exe file to the root of the cf drive.
3. I have done a reset with "fds" and waited until the BN announced "main
menu". Contrary to the instructions in the v3 readme, there was only one
set of chimes, not two.
4. I then pressed "u" for utilities.
5. I then pressed "a" and it said "run program from what drive?"
6. I pressed "c" for compact flash. It then responded with "directory name?
Press enter for /."
7. I pressed "enter". It responded with "program name? Press enter for
braillenotetimed.exe".
8. I pressed "enter" and it responded with "command line?"
9. Again, I pressed "enter" It responded with "Welcome to . . . Press enter
to start installation or esc to cancel.
10. I pressed "enter" and it almost immediately responds with "gpstalk.dll
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another
process. Could not not install gpstalk.dll The process cannot access the
file because it is being used by another process. To exit press enter."

Where do I go from here? How do I get past this message or what am I doing
wrong?
