Fantastic!  Works great.

I'll will try to update the Wiki today.  I will mention that the functionality
will be available on Windows in the (upcoming) gPodder 3.1 release. Should I
include the work-around in the FAQ or document the workaround in a bug report
and refer to that from the FAQ?

Thank you Thomas.

You can set the GPODDER_HOME environment variable (if you're comfortable
with modifying the registry, setting environment variables should also
not be a problem - if in doubt, Google it). The GPODDER_HOME environment
variable tells gPodder where to look for its data folder (database +
settings + downloads).

For the upcoming version (3.1), I've already implemented a nicer way of
download directory selection: gPodder will ask you where to store your
downloads, and you can also later change it through the registry (or by
moving the folder, which makes gPodder re-ask the question). The
environment variable GPODDER_HOME will still be honored and prefered in
this case.

You can update this in the Wiki (for version 3.1 and onwards, which
hasn't been released yet, but hopefully soon).

HTH :)
Thomas
