- I fully agree with that comment too. After thinking about it a little, I can see several good reasons to wait to place my first cache, the biggest being apathy. I know there are a great many people who take up the hobby for a couple of weeks then are never heard from again. If all those people placed caches and then abandoned them, there would sure be a lot of trash floating around out there. The milestone of finding the 50'th cache before placing one sounds like a very reasonable benchmark to me.
