- I have taken the CTA trains all over the place. You really need to know your routes and don't travel too late at night. You can plan your route at.. http://www.transitchicago.com/ Downtown and the Loop can get confusing with all the line colors. Just remember that the loop trains just make a big, well, loop.. I hate driving inner city Chicago so I prefer the train.
